(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - In a telephonic interview on the occasion, young Indian professionals expressed their views that Imam Khomeini was an ocean of new insights into Islam in its totality. Any attempt to limit him and his relevance to Iran or a particular school of thought would be a great injustice to him, to Islam and perhaps to Iran itself, they added.
Syed Altamash Askari, an IT professional based in Auckland, while expressing his views, said that Imam emphasized about unity amongst the Muslim Ummah.
'He always talked about practical solutions for the problems which have engulfed muslims around the world.'
“One major example of Imam Khomeini's initiative for Islamic Unity is the establishment of the Islamic Unity Week. This week spans 12-17 Rabi-al-Awwal; the two dates believed to be the auspicious birthday of the Holy Prophet Mohammad (PBUH),” noted Altamash.
He further said that the great leader’s practical strategies for materializing unity were based on his approach towards the factors and causes of disunity in the Islamic world.
'The Imam considered any ethnic and religious discord, which overshadows the solidarity of Muslims as improper, and stressed the commonalities among all denominations of Islam, like belief in Allah Almighty, the Holy Qur’an and the Holy Prophet (PBUH),' IT professional added.
Meanwhile, Amir Abbas Naqvi, another young Indian Media professional based in UAE, while paying homage to the revered leader said: “People’s uprising against the corrupt regimes, ruled for years by dictators in North Africa, Arab and in some Persian Gulf countries, may captured the headlines of the world and keep providing the fodder to newspapers for few more weeks but all what they are following is the result of the seed sown four decades back by the Grand Ayatullah Ruhollah Khomeini (R.A.).
“To Westerners, his hooded eyes and severe demeanor, his unkempt gray beard and his black turban and robes conveyed an avenger's wrath but he was the man, who led an Islamic revolution in Iran and proved as an avenger of the humiliations that the West had for more than a century inflicted on the Muslims of the Middle East,” he added.
Amir further said that Imam was the one who gave the lesson how to shatter power of irrationality, uproot the illegitimate rulers and voice to people who suffered at the hands of dictators.
He was the first and legitimate revolutionist in all rights who shaken the world while protesting through the Islamic ways and fought for the noble cause, he noted.
Recalling that Imam Khomeini on one occasion said 'O’ Muslims of the world! O’ followers of monotheism! The secrets behind all of the problems in Islamic countries are disunity and a failure to cooperate,' the young professionals in one voice urged the Muslims around the globe to follow Imam’s ideology and form the unity. And pay the real tribute to the great soul.'
